The Civil Parish Of Norton Lindsey

The Civil Parish of Norton Lindsey is located in South Warwickshire, just to the south-west of the county town of Warwick. It falls under Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council.

The parish consists of the bulk of the village of Norton Lindsey along with the hamlets and farms of Littleworth and Lower Norton.

Norton Lindsey is a prosperous, quiet rural parish, located in the green belt and still with significant agricultural land use. It has a population of around 350 residents and parish life is centred around its Village Hall, School, Cricket Club, 13th Century Church, and Community Pub and Shop.

Because of historical district boundaries, Norton Lindsey Village is split between three different Civil Parish Councils and two District Councils.

The main concentration of the village, including the conservation area, is within Norton Lindsey Civil Parish, however :

  • Homes on Wolverton Road which lie west of the junction of Curlieu Lane / Wolverton Road (including those in Norton Lea and on the Blacon Farm track), are in Stratford District’sWolverton Parish (this includes Wolverton School).
  • Homes on the western side of Curlieu Lane (including Morgan Close and Brick Kiln Close) are in Stratford District’sClaverdon Parish, as are most of the houses and barns at Gannaway.

About NLPC

What is Norton Lindsey Parish Council?

Norton Lindsey Parish Council (often abbreviated as NLPC) is the local government body for the civil parish of Norton Lindsey, a small community in the Warwick District of Warwickshire, England.

It represents the interests of the local community, manages parish-level services and facilities, and acts as the lowest tier of local government in the UK. The council is made up of seven elected councillors chosen every four years by the electorate.

What does Norton Lindsey Parish Council actually do?

The council focuses on local issues such as maintaining parish amenities, commenting on relevant planning applications, supporting community initiatives, managing small grants or projects, and representing the parish community’s views to district and county councils.

It holds regular meetings, produces an annual governance statement, and works to improve village life for residents in this small community. For bigger issues like roads or schools, it refers matters to Warwickshire County Council or Warwick District Council.

Can I attend a meeting?

All members of the public are very welcome to attend NLPC meetings. There is a dedicated 15 minute period at the start of every meeting where members of the public can raise matters of concern (after which you can either attend the remainder of the meeting or depart). Meeting details can be found here.
